Peter's passion for wine making started at the very young age of 10, where you could say he was practically born in a vineyard. He grew up in the Slovenian wine region of Prlekija where he helped the local wine makers produce predominantly Chardonnay and Rose varieties.

In 1973, when he first started making wine in Australia, he was forced to adapt his style to accommodate the Australian climate. Over the past 10 years he has taken his wine making to a new level by participating in local wine competitions and winning many silver and bronze medals.

You can imagine his excitement when he won his first gold medal for his Rose, taking away the Jo Illian trophy for Best Rose 2009.

Wine making is his passion, it runs through his blood and brings him fond memories of his birthplace. Peter's dream is to one day have his very own vineyard.

Peter's advice for producing good wine is: "The best wine is produced with just 2 main ingredients, good quality grapes and a lot of tender loving care!"
